ELLSWORTH – L. Pauline Braley died April 15, 2004, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born March 10, 1915, at Mariaville, the daughter of Willis C. and Blanche O. (Jordan) Salisbury. Pauline graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1933. She worked for many years at Moores Drug Store and for 19 years at Union Trust Company before retiring. Pauline was a member of the Otis Baptist Church, the Mariaville Grange and Tri-Town Garden Club. Pauline is survived by her son, Duane Braley and his wife, Charlene, of Ellsworth and their children, Gary, Kevin and Teresa; her daughter, Sandra Conners and husband, Harold, of Ellsworth and their children, Scott, Kris and Amy; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Anna Giles of Town Hill. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Harold R. Braley; one grandson, Charles A. Braley and her siblings, Irving, Carlton, Frederick, Persis, Sylvia and Arleeta. Pauline was a devoted citizen of Otis. She served several years in town government, enjoyed volunteering and working with the children and staff members at the Beech Hill School. Pauline, her husband, family and friends enjoyed many years of swimming, fishing, snowmobiling, cooking out and walking in the woods around Beech Hill Pond. Pauline led a full and happy life and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, with Pastor Scott Conners and Rev. Cliff Cain officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Otis. Gifts in memory of Pauline may be made to the Otis Baptist Church, 239 Otis Road, Otis, ME 04605.
