EDDINGTON and BRUNSWICK – Larry R. Davis, 72, died Jan. 10, 2005, at his residence in Brunswick. He was born Sept. 27, 1932, in Jonesport, the son of Alvah Edward and Charlotte Grace (Groves) Davis. Larry served his country for 12 years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a deputy sheriff in Penobscot County for six years then went on to work in Security. Larry was a great handyman who could fix about anything and even make the right tool to get the job done. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 25 and a half years, Jessie (Sabin) Davis, of Brunswick; stepchildren, Donald Devine of Limington, John Gilman of Lyman, Katherine Gilman of Poland, Elizabeth Craig of Orrington; a sister, Betty Juskiewicz of West Yarmouth, Mass.; two brothers, Walter Davis of Aberdeen, Wash., Alvah Davis Jr. of Saco; many nieces, nephews, stepgrandchildren; and great-stepgrandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters and a brother. The family would like to thank all the volunteers for all their care and assistance throughout Larry’s illness. Friends are invited to meet with the family from 2-3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Interment will be in the spring at Meadow Brook Cemetery, Eddington. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms following the service.
