PITTSFIELD – Laura A. Wright, 65, died July 15, 2006, at a Pittsfield hospital, after a period of declining health. She was born Aug. 26, 1940, in Caribou, a daughter of Oscar and Theresa (Langevin) Lister. A graduate of Bangor High School, she was a nurse at Eastern Maine General Hospital during the 1960s. She worked for Penquis CAP in the 1970s and then moved to Kingman, Ariz., where she was a staff coordinator for Kingman Regional Hospital before returning to Maine in 2000. Laura loved gambling, auctions, yard sales and coupon clipping. She had many talents, such as cooking, dancing, singing and writing. Her excellence in English enabled her to teach the language to students in Japan for two years while married to her first husband and the father of her children, Leland Coffey, while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Laura was predeceased by her brother, Oscar Lister Jr. of Anaheim, Calif. She is survived by her husband, Sydney J. Wright of Pittsfield; three children, Lynn Hudson of Plymouth, Robin Janda of Bowden, Ga. and Robert Coffey of Tyler, Texas; two sisters, Jane Beardsley and Rita Campbell, both of Arizona; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, family and friends. At her request there will be no public services. A private interment and family committal service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
