MARS HILL – Laura H. Antworth, 78, entered into eternal rest Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, after surgery at Florida Hospital, Orlando, Fla. Laura was born April 9, 1929, in Mapleton, a daughter of Rev. Dennis and Blanche (Archer) Barnes. Laura lived in Connecticut, Virginia and California for a number of years, before returning to Maine after her marriage to Otis Antworth. She was a wonderful mom who taught us all to love and serve our God. She loved to cook for her family; her donuts and molasses cookies were a favorite and enjoyed by all. Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband of three short years, Otis of Mars Hill; and five children, a daughter, Diana O’Neal and her husband, Richard, of Oakville, Conn., a son, Gary Witham and his wife, Teresa, of Sacramento, Calif., a daughter, Lois Robillard and her husband, Jerry, of Titusville, Fla., a son, Bruce Witham of Titusville, Fla., and a son, Steven Witham of West Sacramento, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara McManus of Houlton; four stepchildren, Gerald Antworth and his wife, Sheila, of Mars Hill, Roxanna Albert and her husband, Conrad, of Mars Hill, Danny Antworth of Connecticut, and Ricky Antworth of Westfield; 10 stepgrandchildren and 21 great-stepgrandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Irma and Phyllis. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 87 Fort Road, Mars Hill. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the church with the Rev. Rodney Fulton officiating. Burial will be at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill, in the spring.
