MOODUS, Conn. and LIMESTONE – Laura V. Montgomery, 89, of Moodus, Conn., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at the Chestelm Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, one of the 13 children of Leonard and Albertine (Caron) Violette. A longtime resident, she was a devoted member of St. Louis Catholic Church, where she was active in the Parish Ladies of St. Anne. She was also a member of the Limestone Senior Citizens. Laura was married for 40 years to Herbert L. Montgomery, before his passing in 1973. She moved to Connecticut in 2001 to be closer to her family. The Montgomery family wishes to thank the staff at Chestelm Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving and compassionate care shown to our mother and grandmother. She is survived by one son, Gerald Montgomery of Marriotsville, Md.; two daughters, Barbara Narey and her husband, Lawrence, of Euless, Texas, Glenda Peterson and her husband, Earl, of East Hampton, Conn. Laura also leaves behind 20 grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren; and several dear friends. She was predeceased by three sons, Roger Montgomery, Robert Montgomery, Peter Montgomery; as well as by a loving daughter, Doris Shifflett. Prayer services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at the chapel of the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, with Father Jean-Paul Labric officiating. There will be no visiting hours. Spring interment will be held at the Advent Cemetery, Limestone.
