HOULTON – William ‘Jerry’ Grant, 52, passed away Dec. 24, 2003, surrounded by his family at a local hospital, after a tough battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 30, 1951, in Houlton, the son of William M. and Joanne (Lloyd) Grant. Jerry attended Houlton schools and was a graduate of Houlton High School. He farmed with his dad in Littleton for many years, worked for Littleton Gas and recently was a contract mail transporter for the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed four-wheeling and snowsledding with friends. He was a collector of model trains and farm tractors, and always had an eye out for the “Taz” character memorabilia. He is survived by his mother, Joanne Grant of Houlton; father, William and stepmother, Barbara A. Grant, of Houlton; his daughter, Jennifer Grant; and son, Eric Grant, both of Houlton; one brother, David A. Grant of Derry, N.H.; two sisters, Debra Cone and her friend, Larry, of North Amity, Sherri Gould and her husband, Randy, of Corinna; his maternal grandmother, Doris Lloyd of Houlton; nieces, Amanda, Jessica and Kristen; nephews, Logan and Taylor; special aunts, Betty Friel of Houlton, Joan Roberson of Bangor, Geraldine Henderson of Middletown, Conn., Marlene Lloyd of Ellsworth, and Joyce Craig of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; and many cousins. Jerry will also be deeply missed by his special friend, Margaret Huggard of Monticello. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Grant. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Dunn Funeral Home, where services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday.
