RIPLEY and HARTLAND Laurice E. Wood, 70, died Sept. 4, 2007, at Sanfield Nursing Home, after a long period of physical decline. Laurice was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Ripley, to Frank and Lila Vittum. With the exception of a brief period of time in Alabama, Laurice spent her entire life in Ripley. She was married to Lloyd Wood, March 20, 1956. She worked for several years at Dexter Shoe Co., and had a great love for animals of all kinds. Predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, June 1, 1998, Laurice is survived by two sons, Lloyd Wood Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Danville, N.H., and Michael Wood and wife, Sandy, of Harmony; three grandchildren, Lila Penney, Tiffany Germon, and Diana Wood; and four great-grandchildren, Dominic and Vanessa Wood, Logan Maskell, and Reese Germon. A brief funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at First Free Baptist Church, 130 Spring St., Dexter.
