FORT KENT – Laurie (Lozier) Bouchard, 92, died peacefully Jan. 21, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Frenchville. She was born May 5, 1914, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Robert and Aggie (Boutote) Lozier. Laurie was a businesswoman who owned a store in Fort Kent for 36 years. She was also known for her great cooking. She was a member of the Ladies of Saint Ann and the VFW Auxiliary, both of Fort Kent. She is survived by three sons, Raymond and his wife, Rita, of Sinclair, Richard and his wife, Gladys, of Fort Kent, and Robert and his wife, Jerlyn, of Silverthorne, Colo.; and one daughter, Janice Ransford of Crystal Lake, Ill. Laurie was very proud of her 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all greatly. In addition to both her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Albert J. Bouchard in 1994; one newborn daughter, Maxine; two brothers, Rene and Louis Babe Lozier; three sisters, Mary Ann Rioux, Theresa Lozier, and Anges Bernier; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Bouchard; and son-in-law, Robert Ransford, both in 2006. Friends may call 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, until time of service at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. In her memory, those who wish may make donations to the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, Northern Maine Medical Center, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743 or to St. Joseph Nursing Home, Route 1 Box 426, Frenchville, ME 04745.
