MARIETTA, Ga. – Mr. Lawrence B. “Larry” Metcalfe, 79, of Marietta, Ga., died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003. Mr. Metcalfe retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master Sergeant with 25 years service. Following military retirement, he was employed by Tumo Construction Co. Mr. Metcalfe was a member of the Marietta American Legion Post No. 29. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Martin Hipsky of Stetson; his son and daughter-in-law, Larry Metcalfe and Karen Herlehy of Anaheim, Calif.; his brothers, Raymond Metcalfe of San Diego, Calif., and Richard Metcalfe of Niagra Falls, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel with the Rev. Randall B. Brooks officiating. Full military honors will follow the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow later at the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the funeral home.
