PLYMOUTH – Lawrence E. Smith, 50, died unexpectedly July 20, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born Aug. 31, 1957, in Waterville, a son of James W. Smith and Lillian (White) Frazier. He was predeceased by his wife, Sally (Greene) Smith of Plymouth. Larry was a graduate of Nokomis Regional High, Class of 1975. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, ice fishing and boating. He had a great sense of humor; an undying love for the state of Maine and often-frequented Tim Sample shows with his family. Larry worked alongside his father and bro-ther in the family construction business for many years. He was, at the time of his death, employed by Thibodeau Construction as a heavy equip-ment operator and was highly regarded by his co-workers. In addition to his parents, Larry is survived by three siblings, Douglas Smith of Palmyra, Raelene Towne of Au-burn and Andrea Delligatti of Warwick, R.I. He took great pride and joy in spending time with his eight nieces and nephews, Patricia and Kristina Towne of Kennesaw, Ga., Douglas Smith Jr. of Hermon, Ted, Andy and Molly Smith of Palmyra, Alexander and Alessandra Delligatti of Warwick, R.I. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport. Burial will be at Goodwin/Smith Cemetery, Palmyra.
