MANCHESTER, CONN. – Lawrence Emerson Lunt Sr., 75, beloved husband of Mary (Folsom) Lunt, died and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sept. 28, 2005, at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Brewer, Sept. 9, 1930, the son of Roy and Ruth (Nye) Lunt and was reared and grew up in Bangor. At age 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served and fought during the Korean War. As a longtime resident of Connecticut, he lived in Westbrook, Bolton and Manchester. He worked many years at the former Bill Hahn’s Hotel and Resort of Westbrook and then for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as an inspector for 16 years, before retiring. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Lawrence E. Lunt Jr. of Wyoming, Michael Lunt of Michigan; a stepson, Jeffrey Johnson and his wife, Renee, of Bolton, Conn.; a brother, Robert Lunt and his wife, Barbara, of Surry; a sister Sandra Pitt and her husband, Fred, of Westbrook. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Trevor, Leon, Shante, Brittni, Layla and Dalton Lunt, Joshua, Elizabeth, Glendon, and Julia Johnson; as well as several nieces and nephews; his beloved cat, Thomas, and a host of other relatives and friends. Interment was held with military honors at Hillstown Veteran Cemetery, Manchester. Larry served as a soldier in the army of the Lord and as a sailor in the U.S. Navy.
