BLUE HILL and BERNARD Lawrence Harvard Dodge, 90, died at the Mount Desert Hospital on April 2, 2004. He was born Jan. 17, 1914, in Blue Hill the son of Charles and Margaret (Moon) Dodge. Lawrence was owner and operator of the L. H. Dodge Building Contractors for 20 years. During World War II, he worked in the Ellsworth, and Stonington shipyards. Lawrence was a member of the Ira Berry Masonic Lodge No. 128 for 60 years and a member of the Blue Hill Fire Department for 12 years. He is survived by two sons, Peter and his wife, Irene, Richard and his wife, Florence Dodge, all of Blue Hill; two stepchildren, Robert “Chummy” Rich, Walter and his wife, Lynn, all of Bernard. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Karen Rich Eaton. He is also survived by several grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three stepchildren; and five step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wives, Eva H. Bisset; and Mildred (Rich) Dodge. Those who wish may make contributions in Lawrence’s memory to the Ira Berry Lodge No. 128, Blue Hill, ME 04614.
