CLIFTON – Lawrence C. Parlee, 80, died peacefully Aug. 5, 2008, at his home. He was born Oct. 3, 1927, in Haverhill, Mass., the son of Harold E. and Ella J. (Cunningham) Parlee. He belonged to Local Union No. 1253, I.B.E.W., and enjoyed his ham radio K.I.D.V.W. Larry loved to play his guitars, banjo and harmonica. Most of all, he enjoyed taking his dog, Bruno, for a ride on his Harley Davidson in the sidecar, or his MG-Midget. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia L. (Parlee) Fox and husband, Ross; four grandchildren, Crystal Rose, Elizabeth Marie, Jonathan Ross and Timothy Danial; five great-grandchildren, Zacary, Bailee-Ann, Cole, Tara and River; one uncle, Arthur Parlee of Ontario, Canada; two aunts, Effie Jardine and Bertha Jardine, both of Sussex, New Brunswick; special brother and sister-in-law, Reginald and Barbara Jordan of Poland; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, the Bryant family, Thurston and Betty Howe, Arthur and Ellen Butterfield, Ethel Oakes, Norman L. Gomm Jr. and Penny Fox. He was predeceased by parents; his wife, Marion Elizabeth (Lanchance) Parlee; two brothers, Harold Parlee Jr. and Clifford Parlee. The family thanks St. Joseph Hospital and Hospice for all the care and kindness Larry received, and also to his friend and Dr. Chris Ritter. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor David Fox officiating. Visiting hours will be held noon until time of service 2 p.m. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland. After the service, there will be a celebration of Larry’s life at his home.
