FITCHBURG, Mass. – Larry Altman Beatham, 51, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, in Bangor while vacationing. He was born Oct. 16, 1956, in Bangor, the son of Stillman and Ruth (Carr) Beatham. Larry was known as a man of few words and always put everyone before himself. He was a loving father and spouse, and was a wise man that always lent advice. Larry loved his charitable work and was involved in; Cancer Relay for Life, United Way, Coins for Kids and St. Joseph’s variety show. He loved to garden and was an accomplished gourmet cook. He is survived by his loving husband, Joseph Altman Beatham; sons, Bruce Altman of Fitchburg Mass., and Marc Beatham of Portland; daughter, Lori Beatham of Portland; brothers, Bill Beatham of Sacramento, Calif., Stephen Craig of Connecticut, Johnny Kimball of Ellsworth, David and his wife, Nettie Beatham, of Clifton, James Beatham and his partner, Vickie, of Old Town, and George and his wife, Karon Beatham, of Bradford; sisters, Gertrude and her husband, Gerald Folster, of Brewer, Phyllis and her husband, Nathan Turner, of Bangor, Kathleen White of Bangor, and Rose and her husband, Bob Dorrance, of Plymouth; grandchildren, Shyneace Lopez, Megan Beatham, PJ Rodriguez and Alex Willins; dear friends, Virginia Raliegh, Maureen Cox and Lisa Stuart; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and stepchildren. He also leaves behind his three dogs, Megan, Teddy and LB. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
