TOPSHAM – Lawrence M. Noddin, 91, a resident of 22 Curtis Lane died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2006, at his residence. Born Sept. 2, 1914, in Bingham, the son of Frank L. and Gertrude (McLellan) Noddin. He attended Bangor schools and was a 1931 graduate of Bangor High School. Following his education he was employed with New England Telephone & Telegraph Company. He left his employment briefly to serve his country as an Army staff sergeant in Europe during World War II. Following the war, he resumed his employment with New England Telephone as a staff supervisor coordinating the independent phone companies of Maine. He retired to Marlboro Beach on Frenchman’s Bay in 1975, where he was a founding member of the Marlboro Yacht Club. He was also an avid skier until 10 years ago at Sugarloaf USA, where he and his family so enjoyed the sport. Survivors include his wife, the former Doris Lynch whom he married April 29, 1941 of Topsham; one son, Richard Noddin and his wife, Stephanie, of Alna; former son-in-law, Gary Parker of Old Orchard Beach; as well as one granddaughter, Laura Reed Noddin of Boston, Mass. Lawrence was predeceased by a daughter, Gail Noddin Parker; a grandson, Matthew Alan Noddin; and one brother, Harold Noddin. Committal services will be held noon Tuesday, at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Belgrade Road, Augusta, with Rev. Ronald Kurtz presiding. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 332 North Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105, in Larry’s memory.
