BANGOR – Lawrence N. Griffin, 79, has gone to shake the hand of his Lord June 21, 2006. He was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Blaine, the son of Fred and Gertie Griffin. Lawrence was a member of the Columbia Baptist Church, a graduate of Husson College and a U.S. Army veteran. He was met at heaven’s door by his brothers, John, Austin, Leo, Malcolm; and son-in-law, Mike. Lawrence, you are no longer in our lives to share. You will be greatly missed along life’s way and quietly remembered every day by your wife, Helen; daughters, Nora, Esther, Elteen, Eloise; son-in-law, Mike; grandsons, granddaughters, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Lawrence’s life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 26, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Peter Sprague, pastor of the Columbia Street Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. Monday until time of service at the funeral home. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith, Family Center, 163 Center St., immediately after the service.
