CARIBOU – Rena M. Hackett, 84, wife of the late Michael M. Hackett, died June 22, 2006, in Caribou. She was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Connor, the daughter of Sylvio and Emma (Pelletier) Blanchette. Mrs. Hackett was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by three sons, Michael A. Hackett and his wife, Rosalina, of Phoenix, David E. Hackett and his wife, Linda, of Melrose, Mass., Patrick C. Hackett and Joni Hill of Guilford, N.H.; four daughters, Theresa Orlando and her husband, Pasquale, of Johnston, R.I., Anne Besaw and her husband, Bob, of Owls Head, Mary Grant of Falmouth and Janet Bouchard and her husband, Randy, of South Thomaston; one sister, Joanne Hackett of Naples, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, five nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hackett will be fondly remembered by her many special friends including Thomas Grant, Roberta Guerrette, Jean Shaw, Joan Dube, Connie Grendell, Linda, Steve and Vincent Hartford, Fr. David Raymond and April Caron. Mrs. Hackett was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Michael in 1994; a son, Ronald Richard Hackett; two brothers, Elmer and Percy Blanchette. At Mrs. Hackett’s request there will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. David Raymond officiating. Interment will be in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery. After the service the family invites everyone for refreshments and fellowship at the parish hall. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Hackett may do so through the Caribou Public Library or the Maine Veterans’ Home.
