HANCOCK – Lawrence V. Jordan Jr., 72, died Dec. 13, 2003, at an Ellsworth hos-pital. He was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Mount Desert, the son of Anna C. (Grindle) and Lawrence V. Jordan. Lawrence was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Air Force. He loved wood carving and fishing at Alligator Lakes. Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Nancy (Boynton) Jordan; two sons, Larry Jordan of Colorado, and Perry Jordan of Texas; one daughter, Lillian Swartz and her husband, Leslie, of Bangor; one sister, Florence Grindle and her husband, Austin, of North Carolina; step-children, Michael Kelly of Florida, Diane Covey and Pamela Jordan, both of Lamoine; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one nephew, Lane Grindle of Seal Cove. It was Lawrence’s request that there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to the Maine Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 553, Portland, ME 04412. Arrangements are by the Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
