MILFORD – Leita E. Costigan, 76, died Sept. 13, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born May 12, 1928, in Gilead, a daughter of Robert and Vera (Fraser) Granville. Leita was a member of the Milford Congregational Church and was active in Milford politics, serving on the town planning board. She was employed at Bangor Mental Health Institute for many years. She enjoyed quilting. She is survived by two sons, Thornton “John” Costigan Jr. and his wife, Cathy and David Costigan, all of Milford; three brothers, Robert Granville of Miami, Fla., Derwood Granville of Minneapolis, Minn. and Maurice Granville of Meriden, Conn.; a sister, Ann McCormick of Lincoln. She was predeceased by brothers, Donald and Wendell Granville. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at the Milford Congregational Church with the Rev. Patricia Moore, officiating. Burial will be at Village Cemetery, Springfield.
