NORTH WINDHAM and BANGOR – Norma Quinn Kennie, 81, died Sept. 9, 2004, at a Yarmouth healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Bangor, the daughter of Hugh David and Onata Watson Quinn. Norma was educated in the Bangor schools and graduated from Bangor High in 1941. After attending Simmons College in Boston, Norma graduated with a BA Degree in Psychology from the University of Maine in 1945. In 1948, after completing the one-year course for college women, she received a certificate of graduation from the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston. Her career was extensive and varied. In 1955, Norma and Edward Eugene Kennie of Westbrook were married, and resided for many years at Sebago Lake in North Windham. Norma was a member of the American Association of University Women. Her husband, Edward, predeceased her on Oct. 5, 2002. Norma is survived by her nephew, James Kennie and wife, LeeAnn, of North Yarmouth; great-nieces, Kate Kennie of Naples, Fla., and Laura Kennie of Augusta; brother-in-law, Norman Kennie and wife, Carol, of Sebago Lake; sister-in-law, Margaret Lowell of Westbrook, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
