WASHBURN – Lena M. Bucklin, 80, died Nov. 6, 2005, in Bangor. She was born Aug. 28, 1925, in North Wade, the daughter of John N. and Natalia (Faulkner) Howe. Lena was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family who had a heart of gold. She enjoyed outings to the camp and family gatherings. She also received a lot of enjoyment being surrounded by people and going on rides. Lena was a true “County Girl”, whenever she would leave the county, she could not wait to get home. She was a member of the Perham Baptist Church and a member of the R.S.V.P. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, George and Cheryl Bucklin of McKinney, Texas, Melbourne and Julia Bucklin of Milford, N.H. and Raymond Bucklin of Presque Isle; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna and John Oldmixon of Washburn, Isabell Cross and her fiance Chuck Minott of Superior, Colo. and Ruth and Barry Kitchen of Brewer; three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Howe and Letha Howe both of Washburn and Florence Kinney of Blaine; 11 grandchildren, Dawn Dandaneau, Danielle Ziegler, Lisa Fickey, Emily Bucklin, Jason and Ashleigh Cross, Michael, Sean and Chelsea Bucklin, Angela Parks and Jessica Baker; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephew and cousins and a very special uncle, Vernie Faulkner of Wade. She will also be sadly missed by a very close friend Roy Moody of Woodland. She was predeceased by her husband, Archer W. Bucklin in May of 1989; three brothers, Millage, George and Herbert Howe; and by a grandson, John Kent Oldmixon. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Perham Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Goupille, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Extension Cemetery, Washburn.
