GLENBURN – Leo Donald Cookson Sr., 98, husband of the late Mildred (James) Cookson, died peacefully Feb. 10, 2008, surrounded by his loving family at his Hacienda in Glenburn. He was born Sept. 24, 1909, in Corinna, son of Henry W. and Nellie (Bryson) Cookson. Leo was a member of Eagles Club of Brewer and those who knew him, knew dancing was his passion. Surviving are three children, Leo Donald Cookson Jr. of Brewer, Peter Edward Cookson and his wife, Jo Carol, and Cathleen Ruth Cookson, all of Glenburn; six grandchildren, Scott of Frankfort, Debra of Holden, Barbara of Hermon, Don of Augusta, Ryan of Hermon and Rachel of Bangor; two great-grandchildren, Kara and Cole. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of Hermon Baptist Church, officiating.
