OLD TOWN – Leo DuFour passed away June 1, 2008, at a Bangor medical facility. Leo was born June 20, 1933, in Fort Kent, the son of George and Alice (Babbin) DuFour. Leo married Lucy Ramsey in 1952, and in January he was excited to have celebrated their 56th anniversary. Leo was a lifelong member of the VFW, where he especially enjoyed playing cards and pool with his many friends, and considered the VFW his second home. He also was very proud of the work that he did at Sunrise Builders, and was an excellent mason of 20 years. Leo is survived by his wife, Lucy; his daughter, Janice A. Belcher and her husband, Edward; adopted daughter, Jane Wickett; his 10 grandchildren, Chris, Tammy and Julie Wickett, Marie and Corey Reynolds, Michael and Joseph Murray, Angela Wilson, Nikkie Whelden and Fred Scott; and his six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers, Bertrand and Joseph DuFour; and his sister, Leona Pelkey. Leo was predeceased by his parents; his daughter, Alice Marie Reynolds; and his adopted daughter, Patty Scott. A graveside service will be held noon Monday, June 9, at Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. For those wishing to remember Leo, donations may be made to a trust fund in Leo’s name at Bank of America, 56 Main St., Orono, ME 04473. Services have been entrusted to the care of Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town.
