VAN BUREN – Leona A. “Babe” Belanger, 60, died May 19, 2004, at a Van Buren healthcare facility after a brief illness. She was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Van Buren, the daughter of Fred and Alice (Gagnon) Langlais. She was employed at McCain Foods in Easton for the past 10 years. Leona is survived by her husband, Paul Belanger of Van Buren; one stepson, Ronald Belanger and his wife, Rejeanne, of Augusta; one brother, Willard Langlais of Lewiston; two step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Bertrand Langlais and Perley Langlais, and by two sisters, Sadie Lebel and Emilienne Lebel. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 12 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be in the Grande Riviere Cemetery.
