WASHBURN – Leona Amanda Tarbox, 83, passed away peacefully Oct. 29, 2005, at a Caribou healthcare facility, with her family at her side. She was born Aug. 30, 1922, in Woodland, the daughter of Fred and Laura (Landeen) Skidgel. Leona loved the outdoors, working in her flower garden, doing crossword puzzles with her grandchildren. Leona also loved going for rides with her late husband, Bill, and their dog, Corky. She is survived by two daughters, Delores E. Robinson and husband, Rocky, of New Sweden, Shirley L. Carney and husband, Crawford, of Caribou; three sisters, Maxine Skidgel of Woodland, June Green of New Sweden, Jean McLaughlin of Rhode Island; one brother, Maynard Skidgel of Presque Isle; four grandchildren, Mark Corriveau of Fort Fairfield, Tom Anderson and wife, Jenna, of Woodland, Wendy Gaivin and husband, Randy, John McDougal of Caribou; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Saucier, Alisha Philbrook, Ashley Corriveau, Kelsey Corriveau. Leona had a longtime childhood friend, Edna Drake. Leona was predeceased by her husband of 44 years and by one brother, James Skidgel; along with sisters, Phyllis Page and Leola Helstrom. Graveside committal services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Fairview Cemetery, Perham, with the Farleys officiating. Arrangements by the Lancaster Funeral Home, Caribou.
