DYER BROOK and OAKFIELD – Leona (Robinson) Tarr, 84, went to be with her Lord on Aug. 5, 2004, at Houlton with her family by her side. She was born Oct. 10, 1919, in Marsardis, the daughter of Leon and Mildred (Kinney) Robinson. Leona was dearly loved by her husband of 64 years with whom she worked side-by-side for many years. She was greatly adored by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Leona was loved by all who knew her and touched various lives through her active participation in church, her many years of volunteer work, where she worked at Dyer Brook head start, the women’s missions, and as Bible school and Sunday school teacher. Her love of life, family, and friends never faltered even during her illness. Leona leaves her family with her deep faith, love for people and the great outdoors. She is survived by her husband, Ervin Tarr of Oakfield; three sons, Dennis Tarr and his wife, Linda, of Littleton, Richard Tarr of Houlton, Norma Tarr of Dyer Brook, Joey Tarr and his wife, Trudy, of Oakfield; and one daughter, Irene and her husband, Randy Curry, of Dyer Brook; nine grandchildren, Jolynn (Tarr) Sherman, Jason Tarr, Heidi Tarr, Marcie (Tarr) Noonan, Michelle Tarr, Janelle Tarr, Tara Lawlor, Regan Curry, Sheena Curry; five great-grandchildren, Nicole, Alyssa and Kimberley Sherman, Dustin and Jacob Noonan; two brothers, Steve Robinson of Pensicola, Fla., and Charles Robinson of Marsardis. Leona was predeceased by a brother, James Robinson; and a granddaughter, Jamie Sue Tarr. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Bowers Funeral Home, Sherman St., Island Falls, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. David Tuttle and the Rev. Kirby Rushton officiating. Interment will be in the Oakfield Cemetery.
