LITTLE DEER ISLE – William J. Tucker, 95, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at a Deer Isle healthcare facility. He was born Oct. 28, 1908, in Cambridge, Mass., the son of Stewart and Mary (Temple) Tucker. William was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Stonington. William is survived by a nephew, Jack Hamblen and his wife, May, of Deer Isle; and a niece, Linda Haskell and her husband, Douglas, of Little Deer Isle. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence E. (Barter) Tucker in 1982. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Forest Hill Cemetery on the Reach Road in Deer Isle with Elder Neville Eaton presiding.
