OCEANVILLE – Leona V. Joyce, 77, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at a Deer Isle healthcare facility. She was born March 23, 1927, in Stonington, the daughter or Eugene B. and Viva F. (Gross) Joyce. Leona enjoyed watching the birds in her years, the plants that grew around her house, and visiting with her family and friends. She is survived by a son, David Joyce and his wife, Sheila, of Deer Isle; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Galen Joyce of Deer Isle; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Leona was predeceased by her parents; seven brothers; and four sisters. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Greenwood Cemetery, Oceanville, with Lorraine Morey officiating.
