APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. and BAR HARBOR – Leonard Allen Bilancia, passed away unexpectedly April 2, 2006, in Mesa, Ariz. He was born Feb. 26, 1963, in Waterbury, Conn. Lenny grew up with his family in Bar Harbor, where he attended local schools and worked summers in several restaurants. He left Bar Harbor in the mid 1980’s and resided in Connecticut for several years before moving to Apache Junction, where he lived and worked on a local farm. Lenny adored animals. He was an avid reader and a devoted Patriots fan. He became very good with computers in recent years and was often asked by friends to fix their technology glitches. One of his greatest lifelong talents was cooking. His Italian dishes were excellent. Lenny enjoyed long walks with his dog and corresponding and talking with his closest friends and family members, whom he loved and who loved him. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Susie Thompson and Rick Hirte of Bar Harbor; grandmother, Mary Thompson of Addison; brother, sister-in-law and niece, Ron, Sally and Lauren Bilancia of Brewer; sister, brother-in-law and nephew, Maria, Glenn and Logan Tassey of Gorham, N.H.; uncle and aunt, Dan and Martha Thompson of Apple River, Nova Scotia; friends, Tom and Yvonne Swift of Apache Junction, Ariz. Services will be private.
