EDDINGTON and OLD TOWN Leonard “Joe” Legere Sr., 89, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 14, 1917, in Old Town, the son of Alfred and Mary (Tardiffe) Legere. Joe was a member of the American Legion, Oscada, Mich. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and the harmonica. Joe was also an avid Red Sox fan. He will be lovingly remembered by each of his children and their spouses, Clayton and Joan, Walter and Cynthia, Rita and Jim, Bertha Anne and Paul and Ronald and Toni; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alice; son, Leonard Jr. “Piccalo;” and siblings, Albert “Conky,” Lionell “Skippy,” Celia, Gladys and Rose. At his request, there will be no services. The family will hold a private interment at a later date.
