BOX SPRINGS, Ga. Leonard O. Faulkner Jr., 63, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2004, while working at his home in Box Springs, Ga. He was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Franklin. Being good at something was never enough for Leonard Faulkner Jr. He had to be the best, and was never afraid to say so. At an early age, he displayed a predisposition to all things mechanical. So, when he became a certified master auto mechanic, it was no surprise to those who loved him. He was always happy to share his knowledge with those around him, and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. As a proud American, Leonard served in the U.S. Army for several years. These are just a few of the reasons Leonard Faulkner will be greatly missed. Lenny, as he was known by many of his friends, is survived by his mother, Annie Faulkner; his wife, Thelma Faulkner; a sister, Priscilla Tenney; one brother-in-law, Lewis Emerson; several aunts and uncles; three stepchildren; several step-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; one “almost sister,” Marita Kilton; and many other loved ones and close friends. Leonard was predeceased by his father, Leonard Faulkner Sr.; and one sister, Lynn Emerson. At the request of his family, there will be no visiting hours. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2004, at the Steuben Cemetery in Steuben. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leonard’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
