ST. AGATHA – Leonide Dumond, 79, died March 1, 2007, at a Caribou nursing home. He was born Jan. 10, 1928, the son of Rene and Elise (Blanchard) Dumond. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 145, Frenchville and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus Council 7920, St. Agatha. He is survived by one daughter, Lorraine Pelletier of Bristol, Conn.; two grandchildren, Steven and Tammy; two brothers, Camille of Lakewater, Fla., and Edward of Bristol, Conn.; six sisters, Clara Gervais of Frenchville, Dora Berube of St. John, Nora Hebert of West Lakeworth, Fla., Lena Belanger, Gertrude and her husband, Edmond Szrejna, and Robertine Long, all of Presque Isle. He was predeceased by his wife, Yvonne Bonenfant in 1998; and five brothers. The family wants to thank the Caribou Nursing Home for the special care they gave Mr. Dumond. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. Monday at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Valley Church, St. Agatha, with the Rev. Philip Cyr officiating. Burial will be at St. Agatha Lower Cemetery in the spring.
