MARS HILL – Leora E. Fitzherbert, 76, died Monday Oct. 17, 2005, at a Mars Hill nursing home. She was born April 24, 1929, in Easton, the daughter of Charles and Rena (Hersom) Craig. Leora was a graduate of the Aroostook Central Institute in Mars Hill and then married Fay Fitzherbert. She loved quilting, knitting, gardening, playing the piano, and will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She was a member of the United Baptist Church of Mars Hill for many years. She is survived by her husband, Fay, of Mars Hill; three sons, Barry and his wife, Erna, of Gardiner, Allan and his wife, Mary, of Auburndale, Fla. and David and his wife, Karen, of Rumford; two daughters, Nancy Fitzherbert, Jayne King and her husband, Shannon, all of Mars Hill. Leora is also survived by three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Leola Field and her husband, Jack, of Presque Isle and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Ervin Craig. At the family’s request funeral services will be private.
