PERHAM – LeRoy C. Moody, 89, died Feb. 2, 2006, at Caribou. He was born Dec. 7, 1916, in Perham, the son of Fred and Nora (Tupper) Moody. Mr. Moody was a lifelong resident of Perham, where he was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as church deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He was employed for many years by several area farmers and lumber companies. Roy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid storyteller and Perham historian. He married Lettie (McGraw) Moody who predeceased him in 1992. He is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Edna Norton of Washburn and Virginia and Scott Briggs of Windham; five nieces and three nephews, several grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as a special family friend, Becky Legassie. Although Roy and Lettie had no children of their own, they could often be seen with their nieces or nephews as well as, many neighborhood children going to numerous area functions or church activities. Roy was predeceased by his wife, a brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Randa Moody; a brother-in-law, Guy Norton; and a special friend, Lena Bucklin. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the First Baptist Church Perham, with the Rev. David Goupille, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
