SWANS ISLAND – Lester Gott Kent, 72, died Jan. 11, 2007, surrounded by his loving family at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Oct. 30, 1934, on Swans Island, the son of Lester D. and Myrtle (Gott) Kent. Lester served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a lobsterman throughout his life and occasionally drove trucks. Lester will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He also had a great love for animals and dearly loved his many dogs and cats. He is survived by his wife, Gayle (Smith) Kent of Swans Island; twin sons, Darrell Kent of Bangor and Dwayne Kent of Portland, several nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Lurla Montague. Friends are invited to visit with the family 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Methodist Church of Swans Island, where a service of remembrance will be held noon with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves, pastor of the North Brewer-Eddington Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Swan Island.
