WALDOBORO – Lester O. Wallace, 75, longtime resident of Waldoboro, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center, Rockport. He was born March 10, 1931, in Waldoboro, the son of the late Orrin I. Wallace and Naomi Russell Wallace. He joined the Army in 1952, serving in the Korean War until 1954. He delivered oil for the Waldoboro Garage Oil Co. for 19 years, worked for the Maine Central Railroad for nearly 10 years, and was head custodian at Medomak Valley High School for 10 years, until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Waldoboro Fire Department for 40 years and served as its treasurer for many years. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Bette R. Wallace of Thomaston; daughters, Janis Millett of Verona Island and Karen Elliott of Warren; three grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Memorials may be made to the Waldoboro Fire Department, P.O.
