BANGOR – Letitia C. Pelkey, 76, wife of the late Keith B. Pelkey, died Jan. 27, 2007, after a long illness of complications from cancer. She was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Milo, the daughter of Lloyd C. and Dorothy V. (Hinch) Lyon. Letitia was a graduate of Danforth High School. During her high school days, she played for the girl’s basketball team. Then she attended Husson College, where she earned a business degree. Letitia worked for more than 20 years for Beneficial Finance Co. In her later years, she worked part time at Sullivan Ford Sales, in the parts department. She spent time in her later years caring for other family members. Letitia was a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Renae and Scott Lovett of Scarborough; two grandsons, Ryan Lovett of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jason Lovett of Scarborough; several nieces and nephews, and the many special friends in her life. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Kinney; and a brother, Robert Lyon. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Roland Nadeau officiating. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately after the service.
