CARMEL – Christopher Alex Keogan, 47, died Jan. 25, 2007, at his home. He was born Feb. 28, 1959, in Kingston, N.Y., the son of Frederick D. and Nina (Okulich) Keogan. Chris served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 12 years, attaining the rank chief machine technician. He was an avid outdoorsman, who had a big heart and was a friend to many. Chris never met a stranger. The family wishes to thank their church family, Harvest Chapel and their many friends and co-workers who provided support and prayers. Surviving are his wife, Kim (Petersen) Keogan; one daughter, Shawn Keogan, both of Carmel; one brother, Frederick Keogan of Shokan, N.Y.; two sisters, Debbie Tompkins and her husband, Richie, of Highland, N.Y., and Darra Dosch and her husband, James, of Long Island, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Kristine Petersen of Clewiston, Fla., and Karen Sheeley of Stoneridge, N.Y. A celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Harvest Chapel of Levant Village, 3531 Union St., Levant, with the Rev. Stephen Hall, pastor, officiating.
