HEPHZIBAH, Ga. and MADAWASKA – Lewellen Joseph Michaud, 47, died June 13, 2004, in Arlington, Texas. He was born in Oct. 11, 1956, in Madawaska, the son of Hector Eugene and Marie Antoinette (Chasse) Michaud. He was a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant. He served his country for 22 years and was a Desert Storm veteran. He was currently employed by DPOW at Fort Gordon, Ga. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Waller) Michaud of Hephzibah, Ga.; three daughters, Suki Helmer and her husband, Chad, of Charleston, S.C., Nicolette Towery and her husband, Chris, of Copperas Cove, Texas, Sarah Michaud of Augusta, Ga.; two sons, Donald Michaud and Christopher Michaud, both of Augusta, Georgia; six brothers, Eugene and his wife, Jackie, of St. Agatha, Reno of Buffalo, N.Y., Hector Jr. of Tennessee Colony, Texas, Leo James and his wife, Claudette, of St. Agatha, Jean Guy of Van Buren, Gerald and his wife, Michelle, of Grand Isle; two sisters, Rose Cote and her husband, Reynald, of Grand Isle, Linda Lavoie and her husband, Lionel, of Frenchville; three grandchildren, Madison and Jackson Helmer and Neelou Towery; two stepsons, Jon Teal of Augusta, Ga., and Brad Teal and his wife, Lisa, of North Augusta, Ga.; two stepgrandchildren, Brooke and Garrett Teal; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Friends and relatives may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. Monday until time of services at the Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Military pall bearers will include Chris Towery, Chad Helmer, Rubin Lovato, Jon Teal, Travis Lavoie and Lionel Lavoie. A two-soldier team from Fort Drum in New York will provide burial detail and will fold and present the U.S. flag at graveside.
