PLYMOUTH – Lewis C. Gray, 69, died Aug. 8, 2004, at his residence. He was born Feb. 4, 1935, at Plymouth, a son of Eugene and Cora (Nelson) Gray. He graduated from Plymouth High School, served in the U.S. Army, and retired as a Sergeant from the U.S. Army Reserves in September 1994. He shoed horses for 47 years, and was a dairy farmer his whole life having purchased the family farm. He will also be remembered as a former road commissioner for the Town of Plymouth. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Hutchinson) Gray of Plymouth; two sons, Isaac and Anson Gray, both of Plymouth; three daughters, Sheryl Pierce of Alaska, Susan Fraser of Plymouth, and Amy Eager of Wyoming; a stepson, Michael Fournier of Sidney; and a step-daughter, Teena Savage of Readfield; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a niece, Mickey. He was predeceased by his brother, Gene, in 2001. At his request there will be no visitation or services. Private arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport.
