KENNEWICK, Wash. – Lewis Malcom Douglas, 82, passed away Dec. 1, 2006. Lewis was born March, 15, 1924, in Halls Quarry, to Gladys and Harold Douglas. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Marine Corp, enlisting at the age of 17 and serving for nine years. He found joy in everything he put his mind to, from fishing, hunting, gold mining, hiking and showing his children everything he learned throughout his wilderness adventures. His love for life was best displayed by his selflessness and sacrifices for others while disregarding his own hardships. He is survived by five children, Diana Duffy of Tennesse, Steven Douglas of Washington state, Kathryn Douglas of Florida, David Douglas of Washington state and Sandra Douglas of Washington state; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Evelyn Carlow. Lewis is also survived by his faithful companion, a Border Collie named “Buddy.” He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Clyde and Merle Douglas.
