MARIAVILLE – Lewis Reese Rackliff, 71, died May 18, 2006, with his daughter at his side, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 17, 1934, in Weymouth, Mass., the son of Annie Rackliff. Lewis served in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years for the Department of Transportation, Bridge Division. He was also employed by Callahan Mines and Harris Construction. He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Mariaville; son, Michael Rackliff of Bucksport; daughter, Cheryl Rackliff of Durham; brothers, Glenny and David Lloyd, both of Rockland; sisters, Polly Haskell of Deer Isle and Rita Willey of Rockland. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 22, at the Union Church in Harborside. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
