JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – Lexie Sue Powers passed away peacefully April 26, 2008, surrounded by her loving family and the angels at Serenity House, Mooresville, N.C., after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 22, 1951, in Bangor. Lexie had the most loving personality and uncanny wit. Her family and friends were always her number one priority in life. Lexie was a longtime employee of Walmart, Jacksonville, N.C., where she truly loved her job and the many friends she made. Lexie was an avid racing fan and her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr., and most recently, Tony Stewart and Jeff Burton. Lexie is survived by her number one love, her son, Raymond Allen of Jacksonville, N.C.; her brother, Jack Dyer and wife, Bonnie, of Huntersville, N.C.; two sisters, Carol Tremblay of Salem, Mass., and Wanda and her husband, Joseph Lerra, of Peabody, Mass.; several nieces and nephews, and her many friends at Walmart. There will be a celebration of her life 6-8 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville, N.C. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Coastal Carolina State Veterans’ Cemetery.
