MILLINOCKET – Linda finally won the debate. She was her momma’s favorite and she went to be with her June 26, 2008. She was born Feb. 8, 1940, in Millinocket, to Ruth and Walter Hamilton. Linda lived in California for years with her “Sis,” Liz Frazier-Hill, and six years ago returned to Millinocket, it meant so much to all of us. Her laughter and her stories “some exaggerated, of course” were always the center of family gatherings. Whenever Linda was present laughter was all around us. We will sure miss that as we will miss her and Liz Marshall singing old songs around the card table. Linda loved to play cards and was a devoted Tiger Woods, Red Sox and Patriots fan. In addition to her father, Walter of Lincoln, she is survived by and will be sadly missed and always loved by her children, Lynn Conary and Mark Eldridge of Millinocket, Bret Rideout of California, Bart Rideout of Conneticut and Wendy and Bill Noonan of Lincoln; her brother, Wally and Betty Hamilton of Katy, Texas; sister, Carole and Jeff Doughty of Millinocket and all of their families; grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Josh Jamieson, U.S. Marine Corps, Iraq, Kurstin Merritt and Donnie Getchell of Greenbush, Ashley and Cheyenne Sabattis, Rob and Danielle Noonan, all of Lincoln and Ivy, Jazzmine and Ruby Rideout, all of California; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Kill, Demiken and Genesis Sabattis and Abigail Noonan; her very special family, Aunt Shirlie Mackin, Steve and Liz Marshall, David Marshall, Paul and Lynne Mackin, Barbara Curtis, Leslie and Kim Mackin, Karen Perkins, and their families. She was predeceased by her mother, Ruth Fling-Hamilton; and her son, Kurt Rideout. Mom had a lot of friends and family from Maine to California and they all touched her life, as she did theirs. We love you Mom and miss you. There will be a graveside service 9:30 a.m. July 5 at Millinocket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to W. Noonan, P.O. Box 561, Lincoln, ME 04457.
