BANGOR – Linwood F. Russell, 80, passed away on Oct. 3, 2004, at a local healthcare facil-ity after a long illness. He was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Guilford, the son of the late Fred Russell and Laura Page. Linwood graduated from Orono High School in June, 1942. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in December, 1942 and was stationed in the European Theater for three years. He was honorably discharged from the service Oct. 21, 1945, on his birthday. On March 8, 1947, he married Barbara Betts of Orono. He worked for the Merrill Trust Bank in Orono for three years and then he moved to Connecticut where he obtained his master’s electrician’s license and this was his profession until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Bangor; his daughter, Judy Russell of Brewer; his two sons, David Russell and wife, Janet, of Bangor and Mark Russell and wife, Carol, of Glenburn; two sisters, Joan Perkins of Veazie and Jean Lane of Orono; several nieces and nephews.
