CARIBOU – After years of faithful service, Llewellyn B. Chapman, 88, has gone home to be with his Lord Dec. 4, 2006, in Caribou. He will be rejoicing with his parents; his beloved daughter, Pamela Osterhout; and many friends and family. He was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Caribou, the son of Blair and Laura Chapman. He was a graduate of Caribou High School and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Llewellyn was employed by the S.W. Collins Co. for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and was quite the carpenter. He married Geneva Anderson and together they attended the Caribou United Baptist Church, where they loved serving the Lord. Surviving, in addition to his wife of Caribou, are two sons, Gregory Chapman of Florida and Jan Chapman of Gray; one daughter, Rebecca Soucier of Gray; three grandchildren, Melanie Gardner of Gray, Nichole Butler of Fort Fairfield and Tanya Osterhout of Hallstead, Pa.; one grandson, Michael Osterhout of Hallstead, Pa.; three stepgrandchildren, Justin, Joey and Jeremy; and three great-grandchildren, Blair Rose and Alexander Lynn of Gray and Samuel Butler of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Chapman was predeceased by his daughter, Pamela; three brothers, Orland, Warren and Willard Chapman; and two sisters, Ruby Connor and Norma Drew. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Giangiordano officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in honor of Llewellyn and in memory of his daughter, Pamela, who died of cancer June 19, 2005, may do so through the American Cancer Society.
