HAMPDEN – Lloyd Clayton Pinkerton, 73, husband of Beverly (Getchell) Pinkerton, passed away peacefully Oct. 24, 2005, at his home with his family. He was born Dec. 23, 1931, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Fred W. Pinkerton Sr. and Edith (Humphrey) Pinkerton. Lloyd was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. During his working life he worked at Doug’s Shop & Save at Third and Union Streets in Bangor and at Lounsbury’s Supermarket in Hampden as a meat cutter. Following those jobs he became a route salesman for Pleasant Hill Dairy, Hermon, and Edward’s Tire Company, Brewer. He enjoyed woodworking, his John Deere Tractor, but most of all he enjoyed riding around looking for deer. Lloyd loved being a husband to Beverly and a loving father and grandfather to his children. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Beverly of Hampden; his children, daughter, Terry Maxine Pinkerton Albert and her husband, Danny; of Hermon; sons, Jeffrey Lloyd Pinkerton and his wife, Mary Ann, of Bangor, Neal Blaine Pinkerton and his wife, Colleen, of Sangerville and Thomas Leon Pinkerton and his companion, Cassie Cooper, of Hampden; two sisters, Marilyn Cantara of Dover-Foxcroft and Violet Dunbar and her husband, Charles, of Smithville, Texas; grandchildren, Debora Gorman and her husband, Colin, Neal Albert, Danielle Pinkerton, Shawn Pinkerton and his companion, Nicole Marino and Janel Turcotte and her husband, Brendan; one great-granddaughter, Rachel Turcotte and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Fred Pinkerton, Jr. and John Pinkerton; and a sister, Patricia Carollo. A time of visitation and remembrance will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Interment will be private at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden.
