EXETER – Lloyd Everett Day, 53, the husband of Michele (Pel-litier) Day, died May 16, 2007, at his home. He was born July 30, 1953, in Ban-gor, the eldest son of Everett and Thelma (Preble) Day. In January 2006, he was diagnosed with the extremely rare anaplastic thyroid cancer, with a life expectancy of only six weeks. Lloyd’s inner strength and great determination brought him through 151/2 additional months he was able to share with his family. Lloyd loved fishing the hidden brooks deep in the woods in the early morning mists, with the sounds of birds and squirrels all around him. Deer season and the spring turkey hunts would find him in the woods, practicing his hunting skills, but mostly he enjoyed being able to watch deer as they walked by him and have the turkeys answer his calls. Lloyd also took great pride in his orchard, gardens and lawn, spending hours pruning, weeding, mowing and planning future improvements and expansions. The birds will miss him, as he always provided food and houses for them, winter and summer. Though we can’t reach out and touch you and watch you as you make us laugh, we’ll see you in our memories and feel you in our hearts. As a boy, Lloyd went to Morrison Memorial Grammar School and Central High School, graduating in 1971. He joined the Air National Guard in 1972 and was honorably discharged in February 1987. He had been employed as a supervisor at Osram Sylvania Inc., Bangor, where he had worked for 28 years. Surviving in addition to his wife of Exeter, are a daughter, Amanda Day and her fianc?, Michael Brezicki, of Connecticut; a son, Jeremy Day and his companion, Tammy VanDine, of Portland; a granddaughter, Desira of Charleston; three sisters, Joyce Gardner and her husband, Tom and their children, Stephen, Kevin and Anngela, of Corinth, Darlene Moors and her husband, Daniel and their family, Timothy, Amy and Makayla, of Corinth, and Diane Rollins and her husband, Mike and their children, Mike and Jenny, of Corinth; two brothers, Terry Day and his wife, Debbie and their son, Lee, of Corinth, and Richard Day and his wife, Suzie and their family, Nicholas, Josh and Jacob, of Charleston; and a special aunt, Velma Hubble of Levant.
