MONSON – Lloyd G. Kelley, 83, died Feb. 18, 2006, at a Dexter healthcare facility. He was born June 12, 1922, in Caribou, a son of Edward and Bessie (Lloyd) Kelley. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post No. 116, in Monson. During the 50’s and 60’s, he was a licensed Maine Guide. He worked for Portland Monson Slate and owned and operated a logging company and a construction company for many years. Lloyd also enjoyed flying. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Lisa” (Sheahan) Kelley; two sons, Lloyd “Rick” and his wife, Nancy Kelley and David Kelley, all of Monson; a stepdaughter, Megan Allen of Old Town; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Shelly, Alan, Julene “Julie,” Andrea, Amy and Liza; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kelly, Simon, Jessica, Derek, Brooke and Julie; a sister, Joyce Kelley of Monson; a brother, Byron and his wife, Deanna Kelley, of Monson; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sylvia (Davis) Kelley; a son, Jeff; and four siblings. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Monson United Church of Christ, with Pastor Marilyn Sargent, officiating. Those who wish may make donations to the Monson Fire Dept., P.O.
