WOODLAND, Aroostook County, and PRESQUE ISLE Lloyd R. Griffeth, 79, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 4, 2008. He was born May 7, 1928, in Caribou, the son of Leonard and Edith (Smith) Griffeth. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice (Haines) Griffeth. He is also survived by two sons, Lewis Griffeth of New York City and Robert Griffeth and his wife, Lona, of Caribou; five daughters, Joan Heath and her husband, Tom-my, of Portsmouth, Va., Donna Miron and her husband, Terry, of Spencer, Ind., Marilyn Bouchard and her husband, Mike, of Presque Isle, Mary Hebert and her husband, Will, of Portsmouth, Va., and Ellen Corriveau and her fianc?, Harris Nickerson, of Presque Isle; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Leon of Chicopee Falls, Mass., Ronald of Woodland and Dale of Caribou. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Wallace; sisters, Helen and Pauline; and half brothers Harold, Jasper and Earl. Lloyd will always be remembered by his strong handshake. He loved working the farm in Woodland, living there since a small boy just down the hill from the one-room schoolhouse where he attended. He worked for Grant’s Dairy as a young man and then went on to be a dairy and potato farmer until his retirement. Lloyd’s greatest enjoyment in life was time spent with family and friends. He came to know the Lord in 1973 and was never afraid to let others know of God’s goodness. Friends and relatives may call 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Perham Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Goupille officiating. Committal services will take place in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Washburn. Donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Perham Baptist Church, P.O. Box 8, Perham, ME 04766.
